- !Speakers
- ~~~~~~~~~
-
- NOTE: This program is Freeware. This means that I retain copyright of the
- application at all times. However, you may distribute the application
- free of charge so long as:
-
- a) the application is not changed in any way
- b) you do not sell this program for profit
- c) the application is distributed in its original state
-
- Good, got rid of that!
-
- The idea of !Speakers is to provide an icon on the icon bar that will enable
- the internal speakers to be switched on and off with the minimum of fuss in
- the desktop.
- Just click on the loudspeaker icon and it will toggle the state of the
- speakers. The icon shows whether the speakers are on or off by showing a tick
- or a cross in the loudspeaker. That's all there is to it.
- Note that this application really only works in Risc OS 3.00 at the very
- least and has been written with a Risc OS 3.10 machine.
- The file Templates3 in the application are the new Acorn 3D style templates.
- These can be made the default tenplates by renaming the file as Templates
- (after having renamed Templates to something else!).
-
- For those of you who like to know more about the nitty-gritty, this is a
- module application so it will always appear on the desktop once loaded unless
- you quit it or perform a reset of some sort. It is also prioritised to be
- just to the left of the palette.
- The module will check the status of the speakers as it starts up so that it
- will always show the correct icon on the icon bar when it is fired up.
-
- Bugs: None that I can find... yet!
-
- Things to do: Get someone to do something about those horrible icons (any
- takers please?)
- Write some code to intercept any other programs changing the
- state of the speakers so that the icon bar can be updated - not
- as easy as you would think as there appears to be nothing nice
- like a vector (again - any help would be welcome)
